What is an infographic? If you don't know, go look it up. Read about it and then in your own words tell me what an infographic is. What do infographics do? How do they work? What makes a really good infographic?

Tell me about your Homecoming weekend! If you didn't participate in the Homecoming festivities, what did you do? Share pics!
Well on Friday I marched in the homecoming parade with the band and played at the football game with band and the 8th grade band students. On Saturday I mowed the yard and watched football. I didn't go to homecoming. On Sunday I went to church and watched more football.

Imagine Mr. Bacon has asked you to suggest one way of improving Blue Valley High School to make it a better place for students. Think about the changes that are needed at your school. Pick one change you feel would really make a difference and explain what it is and why you'd make the change.
I think that having longer passing periods is a change that would make a difference because at the warning bell everyone who hasn't gone to class yet leaves then which creates a huge traffic jam in some places so some people are late because they can't get through. Having longer passing periods would also help when students need to use the restroom because there are usually lines and people who have to wait forever can be late to class as well.

What are your favorite apps on your phone or tablet? Why?
My favorite apps that I have are Netflix, Clash of Clans, Madden, 9 innings, and well, pretty much all the games on my phone and iPad. These are my favorites because if you are waiting for something then they are a good waste of time and they are fun. Especially during long car rides.

What is email? When do you use email in your own personal life? List reasons and ways that people use email. What do you know about "email etiquette"?
Email is basically the electronic way to send letters. It is quicker and more efficient. I use my email to sign up for thing and i check it everyday for mail that I get from people but I don't send very many emails. I just receive them. People use email to communicate though it is slowly going away because people can now text each other. I know pretty much nothing about "email etiquette". I didn't even know there was "email etiquette".imagevia

Now that you've been in Emerging Technology for several weeks... what do you think? Do you think the web tools (Drive, Evernote, Bubbl, etc.) are helpful to you? Do you think they will be helpful throughout high school or even college? Explain.
Emerging Technology is a good class and the tools we are using is helpful. Google drive can definitely come in handy in college. Its great being able to save all my documents in one spot and being able to access them anywhere. Even Evernote can come in handy when I need to research things later in high school or college.

Do you enjoy writing? When do you enjoy it? What kind of writing do you enjoy? Why do you think the ability to write is so important no matter what kind of writing it is? Give an example that you enjoyed writing or hated writing. Why?
I do not like writing. I never enjoy writing. Writing is important though, I guess. Writing is just an important skill in order to do school work. I hate writing every time I have to write an essay for any class because essays are a waste of time. It's called English class, not writing class, so maybe we should just read things and take tests over them. That is much better.

Reflect on this quote. Give an example of a time in your life that this might have been the case.
We get told this stuff after every rehearsal for marching band. Our drum majors tell us to prepare to for tomorrow and whatever we do that night or over weekend needs to be to prepare us for our next rehearsal. It is true though, that if we do not prepare correctly, we will not succeed. We will fail if we not prepare. Like if we don't study for a test, we will fail the test.

What is the importance of research? Why do you need to know how to research? What have you learned in high school about researching topics and finding quality resources? Have you had a helpful teacher that has taught you to research? Explain.
Research is important because for a lot of projects in school you have to do research on a topic in order to know more about. Research helps you know more about a topic. You need to know how to research because if you don't know how to research, you would just be lost trying to figure out things about your topic. I have learned that looking on databases and other credible sites for research is good. We can't use Wikipedia because it is apparently untrustworthy because people can change it when ever they want. I guess pretty much all my teachers have had to teach us how to research because we have had a research project in almost every class.

Man, kids these days are just nuts. Always on their phones. They don't know how to do anything when they are on their phones all day. They need to grow up as well as they are all extremely immature.

Tell me about the global issue you selected. What do you already know about the issue? What are you looking forward to learning about it? Explain.
*Hint - it's okay to reference your research questions and selection paragraphs that you wrote earlier this week to answer this blog post. Don't copy and past though. I'll know. :)
For my global issue selection I chose Ebola. So far I know that it is a deadly virus and it can spread quickly like it is right now in Africa. I look forward to learning how it is so effective when it infects people, how it spreads so quickly, and what we can do to prevent it.

On my imaginary report card these are the subjects i would get A's in:
Talking a lot: A
Being on my phone: A
Eating or drinking in class: A
Falling asleep in class: A
Playing games on computer/IPad: A
I would probably get in F in anything includes writing a paper or speaking in front of a class so anything involving those are not good for me.

Yesterday I asked you to "think differently" and push yourself to be uncommon with your PSA project using Google Slides. Why do you think I asked you to do that? What is the point? Why not just use bullets and headers? Explain.
I think you asked us to do that because when we do our presentations it is important that we be ourselves when we do it. You want our project to be original and not like everyone else's project. Putting bullets and headers is bland and not fun at all. It would also make the presentation like every else's and our teacher would get tired of seeing the same thing over and over.
